About IBS

Prior to 1981, electronic security systems were primarily sold to businesses and affluent homeowners. However, in 1981, Peder Kolind forever changed the security industry by introducing a revolutionary, yet foundational concept: the mass marketing of alarm systems.

Along with this revolutionary concept, Mr. Kolind established his own software company in Copenhagen, Denmark to satisfy the needs of the rapidly growing security industry. IBS continues to provide the world’s leading software for central station alarm companies. IBS’ lead product, Security Business NET (SBN), was the first system with a relational database and a true GUI (Windows) interface and, as a result, has been the industry’s technology leader over the past 30 years.

In 1990, IBS opened an office in Irving, Texas, where the company now handles all development and support. IBS develops software for both commercial and proprietary central stations throughout North America, Central America, South America and Europe. The company operates on three continents and offers multi-lingual software and support.

IBS’ corporate mission is to provide cutting-edge technology and industry-leading technical support while building long-term, dynamic customer relationships. IBS manages a steady growth so that it can continue to offer hands-on customer support and can contribute to the success of its software community. IBS’ objectives are to continue to sell software to some of the world’s largest companies and to maintain its position as the leader in technological advancement and innovation in the alarm software industry.
