2013 SBN User Conference Highlights
Recent Developments in SBN
Windows SBN Services Redesign
All Windows-based SBN services, including the more than 160 out-of-the-box reports, were redesigned for increased performance and stability in an enterprise environment.
IVR (eOperator)
IVR allows the Central Station to identify specific signals (such as trouble) to be handled automatically by the IVR. Installations can be configured in SBN with specific calling characteristics, including schedules, call lists and call results. All activity by the IVR appears in the alarm log for easy reporting. Signal handling can be controlled at the alarm generation level or manually. In addition, configurations support branch, dealer, call type and subscriber type exclusions/inclusions.
Video Surveillance
IBS recently added AXIS and AVHS to its suite of video integrations. For a complete list of video integrations click here.
Enhanced Documentation
The SBN documentation is comprised of an SBN User Manual, the F1 Help feature, and comprehensive training program manuals.
The main SBN User Manual is an extensive document that contains detailed information about every program within SBN at both the screen and field level. The documentation also includes information on external programs used in conjunction with SBN, such as the Concentrator, Front-End, Backup Host, Report Scheduler, and SBN Graph.
IBS enhances the documentation in conjunction with each software release and can provide the documentation in .pdf format or on CD-ROM upon customer request. With each release, IBS provides a What’s New document, which summarizes all modifications made to the software for the specified release. Furthermore, SBN contains an internal link to the documentation, accessible by the F1 feature within the software.
QAS Pro Address Validation Integration
Use QAS Pro software to verify the addresses users enter in several SBN programs. The three countries currently enabled for QAS address validation are the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. SBN uses the information you enter in Countries (program #1865) to determine when to invoke address validation and where to look for QAS Pro data sets.
Remote Panel Maintenance
Integration of remote panel maintenace for:
- Honeywell Vista20p and Vista128
- DMP XR500
Access Control
Access Control allows you to permit or deny specific resources to users. Use Access Control to manage physical resources (such as a pharmacy, where only verified employees are allowed to enter) or digital resources (such as private text documents on a computer). Item Control or Electronic Key Management are areas within an access control system that concern the management of equipment and locations by certain individuals. Use Access Control systems to:
- Identify and authenticate users who can log on to a system and access software elements
- Determine what physical locations of a company users are limited to
- Track where a user is located or what they have recently accessed
